JASHORE, May 26, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit today visited Rashed Khan’s house which was vandalized by some people at the town’s Kholadanga area.

After hearing the news of the attack, Amit, also the MP for Jashore-3 constituency, visited the house here this morning and consoled Rashed Khan and his family members. He also instructed the police administration to take strict legal action against those involved in the attack.

The house of Rashed Khan, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Jashore and a parliamentary candidate for the Jashore-3 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, came under attack and vandalism in connection with an anti-fascist movement-related incident.

The attack took place at around 9:00 pm on Monday and he later submitted a written complaint to Jashore Kotwali Police Station in this regard.

In his complaint, Rashed Khan alleged that the attack stemmed from a land dispute involving several neighbors, including Mona, Imon and Julie Khatun. According to him, the accused attacked the house with locally made weapons, sharp machetes and axes.

He claimed that the attackers used abusive language, assaulted him indiscriminately and vandalized the boundary wall of his residence and his business establishment, causing damages estimated at more than Taka 200,000.

He further alleged that the attackers fled the scene after local residents rushed in, while issuing death threats against him.

Expressing gratitude to the State Minister, Rashed Khan said the minister’s support during this difficult time had given courage and reassurance to him and his family.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Thana Md. Masum Khan confirmed that he received a complaint and said legal action would be taken against the attackers following an investigation.
