Timeframe for sending workers to Malaysia's plantation sector extended

DHAKA, Jan 28, 2025 (BSS) - The timeframe for sending selected workers to Malaysia's plantation sector has been extended until March 31.

The information was disclosed in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary of the Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry, Gazi Md Shahed Anowar, today.

The notification instructed selected workers in the plantation sector to complete all procedures, including obtaining visas, by February 15.
The government has set the maximum migration cost for a worker at Tk 78,740.

Selected workers have also been advised not to pay money to anyone other than an approved recruiting agent.
