ACC arrests employee of directorate of government accommodation

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today arrested Md. Tayabur Rahman, an employee of directorate of government accommodation, on charges of forging the signatures of senior officials to allocate plots, fraudulence and irregularities.

An enforcement team, led by ACC Deputy Director Yasir Arafat, arrested him from his workplace at the Secretariat.

The commission has already approved a case against him. Deputy Assistant Director Md. Roknuzzaman filed a case at the Integrated District Office Dhaka-1.

Md. Tayabur Rahman has been kept at Ramna Police Station and will be sent to court later, ACC Deputy Director Md. Akhtarul Islam confirmed.

He said that Tayabur is involved in various illegal activities including allocating plots through fraudulence and forgery of the signatures of various officials.

The drive was conducted by the Enforcement Unit of the ACC on the basis of specific allegation, and the decision of arresting him was taken immediately when the allegations were found true, he added.
