NCP, Khelafat Majlis reach 8-point consensus, including trial of AL

DHAKA, April 20, 2025 (BSS)- The National Citizens' Party (NCP) and the Khelafat Majlis have reached an eight-point consensus, which includes trial of the Awami League for genocide and the suspension of the party's registration.

The two parties reached the consensus during a dialogue held today at the Khelafat Majlis office in the city's Purana Paltan.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adib, Joint Conveners Dr Atak Muzahid and Ashraf Uddin Mahdi were present at the talk. 

Representatives from Khelafat Majlis included Dr Ahmed Abdul Kader, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Sakhawat Hossain, Maulana Ahmed Ali Kashemi, Professor Abdullah Farid, joint secretary generals Advocate Jahangir Hossain, Muhammad Muntasir Ali, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Faisal and Professor Md. Abdul Jalil, Organizing Secretaries - Professor Kazi Minhajul Alam and Maulana Sheikh Muhammad Salah Uddin, Social Welfare Secretary Aminur Rahman Firoz, Publicity Secretary Engineer Abdul Hafiz Khasru, Ulama Affairs Secretary Mufti Ali Hasan Usama, Youth Affairs Secretary Tauhidul Islam Tuhin and executive member Amir Ali Howlader.

The demands adopted in the dialogue included constitutional recognition of the dignity of the martyrs of the July Uprising, provision of proper medical treatment to the injured and rehabilitation of their families, ban on the political and organizational activities of the Awami League.
