Water levels rise in 19 rivers, fall in 24: FFWC

DHAKA, April 22, 2025 (BSS) - Water levels at 19 river stations across the country have risen, while 24 stations recorded a decline, according to the latest bulletin from the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC).

Of the 46 monitored stations, water levels at three remained unchanged. All rivers are currently flowing below their respective danger levels, the bulletin said today.

In the haor region of northeastern Bangladesh, the water level of the Kushiyara River is rising, while the Surma remains steady. Levels of the Bhugai-Kangsha and Dhanu-Baulai rivers are decreasing.

All monitored rivers are below pre-monsoon danger levels, said the FFWC.
