Two AL leaders held in Netrokona

NETROKONA, April 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested two Awami League (AL) leaders on Tuesday night from Modon Bus stand area of Kendua upazila of the district.  

The arrested leaders are former Mayor of Kendua Paurashava and General Secretary of upazila AL Asadul Haque Bhuyan and Organizing Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Bipul.

Police sources said they were arrested in a case filed over carrying out sabotage activities in the area on August 5, 2024.

Deputy Assistant Inspector of the district DB police Md. Iqbal Hossen confirmed the matter and said based on secret information, the two Awami leaders were arrested from the upazila.

They have been sent to the court in an explosives case, he added.
