Task force formed to probe ICT irregularities

DHAKA, April 24, 2025 (BSS)- A task force has been formed to investigate 
irregularities and corruption in various projects in the Information and 
Communication Technology (ICT) sector and to prepare a white paper.

Economist Professor Niaz Asadullah will lead the task force and white paper 
committee, a PID release said here today.

The other members of the committee include Prof Muhammad Mustafa Hossain, 
legal expert Barrister Afzal Zami Syed Ali, technology expert Mahmud Salam 
Maruf and journalist Md Shariat Ullah. 

Technology expert Asif Shahriar Sushmit is also included in it as the main 
coordinator. 

The gazette for the formation of the task force was published on April 17.

This task force will also examine all types of contracts and project DPPs 
executed by the ICT division during the previous government and its all audit 
and investigation reports. 

The "ICT White Paper Task Force" will submit a summary and detailed report of 
all reports by June 21. 

The Information and Communication Technology division will provide logistics 
and other necessary support to the task force.
