Over 100 roadside shops evicted in Mirpur

DHAKA, April 24, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) evicted over 100 roadside shops from Rupnagar area in the city's Mirpur today. 

The drive, led by Regional Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate of DNCC's Zone-2 Md Ziaur Rahman and DNCC's Executive Magistrate Md. Shahidur Islam, covered various roads under Rupnagar Residential area in Mirpur-2.

At least eight gates built illegally by encroaching roads and footpaths in Rupnagar areas under Mirpur of the city were demolished during the drive.

The mobile court also fined a furniture shop and a food shop Tk 3,000 each during the drive.
