Six killed in Rangamati road accident

RANGAMATI, April 26, 2025 (BSS) - Six people including woman were killed and
another was injured in a collision between a pickup van and a CNG-run auto-
rickshaw on the Chattogram-Rangamati road in Rubber Bagan area under Kawkhali
upazila of the district this morning.

Three of the deceased were identified as Torab Ali, son of Sohrab Hossain of
Chowdhury Para area of Raojan upazila and Mahmudur Rahman of Sattar Ghat area
of Hathazari upazila in Chattogram district and Nur Nahar, daughter of Abdur
Rahim of Monairtek area of Kawkhali upazila in Rangamati district.

The accident took place around 10.30 am when the two vehicles collided head-
on, leaving three auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and injuring four
others, said Saiful Islam Shohag, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kawkhali Police
Station.

The injured were taken to Raojan Upazila Health Complex where three others
succumbed to their injuries.

Later, one injured was shifted to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital
(CMCH) in critical condition.
