MAGURA, April 26, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested an Awami League leader from Magura police lines area on Thursday night in connection with a sabotage case during July uprising.
The arrestee was identified as Shakhawat Hossain, joint general secretary of Magura Paurashava Awami League and was a former councilor of the Paurashava.
Magura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md. Ayub Ali, confirmed the arrest.
"Shakhawat Hossain had been named as a suspect in a sabotage case filed during the July-August mass uprising. Following legal procedures, he was produced before the court, where the court ordered him to be sent to jail," the OC said.
