RAB arrests accused in Gaibandha easy bike driver killing

RANGPUR, April 28, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an individual from the Pourapark Market area in Gaibandha town yesterday evening in connection with the killing of an easy bike driver.
The arrested was identified as Md. Arif Mia, 25, son of late Shahjahan Ghatok of the David Company Para area under Sadar Police Station in the district, according to a RAB press release.
Earlier, on April 25, unidentified miscreants seriously injured easy bike driver Anisur Rahman alias Thanda Mia, 36, with sharp weapons in front of the NESCO-1 office in the district town, snatched his easy bike and left the scene.
Later, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the Rangpur Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment.
Following the incident, on April 26, the victim's wife filed a murder and robbery case with Gaibandha Sadar Police Station.
 

The Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 of RAB-13 at its Gaibandha Camp launched a shadow investigation into the case and confirmed the location of the accused using information technology.
 

Subsequently, a team of RAB-13's CPC-3 at Gaibandha Camp arrested Arif Mia on Sunday at 6:20pm.
 

The elite force handed over the arrested person to Gaibandha Sadar Police Station, the release added.
