Court freezes bank accounts of 3-officer, wives

DHAKA, April 28, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to freeze five bank accounts and 13 saving certificates of three forest officers and their wives.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The freeze bank accounts holders are- forester Chinmoy Madhu, Satgumbus Forest Division, his wife Lopa Rani Mandol, Bagerhat division forest officer GM Rafique Ahmed, his wife Aklima Ahmed, Haridas Madhu and his wife Dulali Madhu.

According to the bank accounts, a total of Tk. 2,79,91,632 was found to the five bank accounts.

The anti-graft body its plea said that they also bought 13 saving certificates against 35 persons.

Apprehending about money transfer from those accounts belonged to forest officers and their family members, the ACC pleaded to freeze their accounts immediately.
