DHAKA, April 28, 2025 (BSS) - The holy Zilqad month of 1446 hijri year will begin from Wednesday (April 30) as the moon was not sighted on the sky in the evening (April 28) and that's why the Shawal month will be 30 days.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held in the conference room of Ashkona Hazi Camp in the evening with Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain in the chair.

Director General of Islamic Foundation Md Abdus Salam Khan, Director General (DG) of Principal Information Officer (PIO) of Press Information Department (PID) Md Nizamul Kabir and additional secretary of the religious affairs ministry Md Tofazzal hossain, among others, attended the meeting.
