25 Bangladeshi workers reach South Korea under MoU

DHAKA, April 29, 2025 (BSS) - The first batch of Bangladeshi workers reached South Korea in line with a recent bilateral deal on recruitment of workforce from the South Asian nation to the East Asian country, an official press release said here today.

According to the PID release they went to South Korea as E-8 category workers under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment ministry and a Korean company.

It said the workers would engage in different fisheries companies in South Korea.

PID said the MoU was signed to facilitate the recruitment and deployment of Bangladeshi workers to South Korea under their Employment Permit System (EPS).

According to the release Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul received the seasonal workers at Incheon International Airport.

“The process (of recruitment of Bangladeshi workforce) will continue in future (as well),” the press release read.
