DHAKA, May 3, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has said that the fascist Awami League had carried out at least three massacres in the country.

"The first of these massacres was the BDR carnage, in which we lost 57 army officers. The second one was the May 5 Hefazat rally attack and the last one was the mass killing during the July uprising," he said.

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer said this while inaugurating a two-day conference of his party's district and metropolitan ameers from across the country at the Al-Falah Auditorium at Moghbazar in the capital.

Shafiqur thanked the Almighty Allah as the district and metropolitan ameers were able to sit together in a meeting today.

"We had not been able to sit together like this in the last 15 years. In those years, countless people have been lost forever through enforced disappearance and murders," he said.

Those who were lucky returned home, he said, adding that countless people were kicked out of their workplaces in last around 12 years.
