Police arrested five Jubo League and Chhatra League leaders

MANIKGANJ, May, 4, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested five Jubo League and Chhatra League leaders and activists from the residence of former Health Minister Zahid Malek at Bonani in Dhaka in a special drive on Friday night and Saturday.

The arrested are Manikganj District Jubo League former Vice President Masud Rana and Shafi Mir, Manikganj Sadar upazila Chhatra League former Vice President Ujjal Hossain and Chhatra League activists Abid Hossain and Hridoy Hossain. All are Garpara Union in Manikganj Sadar upazila residents.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Police Station SM Amanullah, confirming the matter, said a total of 13 people have been arrested in connection with the burning of the house of artisan Manabendra Ghose of village Chandor under Garpara Union of Manikganj Sadar upazila in the district. The arrested will be produced to the court today and will seek a 7-day remand, the OC added.

The criminals burnt the house of artisan Manabendra Ghose on the night of April 15. A case was filed with the Manikganj Police Station in this connection.
