Daud elected as President, Babu as Secretary of Panchagarh Sadar BNP

PANCHGARH, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - The biennial council of Panchagarh Sadar Upazila unit of the BNP was held yesterday after a 16-year hiatus, electing Abu Daud Pradhan as president and Mahfuzur Rahman Babu as general secretary.

The committee was formed through a secret voting, where as many as 710 delegates franchised their voting rights, at the council held at the Panchagarh Government Auditorium Hall.

BNP National Executive Committee Rural Development Affairs Secretary and its District Unit Member Secretary Farhad Hossain Azad declared the result after the vote count last night.

At the same time, he instructed the new leadership to submit the full committee to the district BNP within the next 15 days.

Barrister Muhammad Naushad Zamir, secretary of international relations of the National Executive Committee of BNP addressed the council as the chief guest. 

Farhad Hossain Azad was present as the keynote speaker. 

Abdul Khalek, Co-organizing Secretary for Rangpur division BNP, Aminul Islam, and Advocate Rina Parveen, a member of the National Executive Committee, among others, addressed the council. 

The last biennial council of the Sadar Upazila BNP was held in 2009. A convening committee was later formed in 2020, with Anwar Hossain as convener and Sekender Ali as member secretary.
