Two held with 100-kg hemp in city

DHAKA, May 4, 2025 (BSS)- Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested two
alleged drug traffickers and seized 100 kilograms of hemp along with a pickup
van from the Pallabi area of the city.

The arrestees were identified as Md. Sohag Sardar, 28, and Md. Tahid, 26.

A press release, signed by Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations
Department) Muhammad Talebur Rahman of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said
here today.
 
Based on secret information, a team of the DB conducted a raid in the Kalshi
Moor area under Pallabi Police Station on Saturday and arrested them with the
contraband drugs [hemp], the release said.

Legal action against the arrestees is currently underway, it added.
