FARIDPUR, May 4, 2025 (BSS)- A court here today sent 18 leaders of Awami League (AL) to jail in two cases for attacking BNP Organizing Secretary Shyama Obaid’s motorcade in 2018.
 
Senior District and Sessions Judge of Faridpur Maksudur Tahman passed the order rejecting their bail petitions.

The AL leaders, all from Shaltha upazila of the district, surrendered to the court and sought bail.

The AL leaders are- Nannu Matubbar, Jahangir Munshi, Billal Matubbar, Rasel Matubbar, Kamrul Molla, Delwar Kazi, Sarwar Matubbar, Sirajul Matubbar, Yunus Molla, Fazlu Matubbar, Nazrul Matubbar, Aiyub Ali, Ujjwal Matubbar, Alef Matubbar, Rezaul Matubbar, Yasin Molla, Chano Miah and Nurul Islam.
 
The cases were filed under Speedy Trial Act for their alleged involvement in attacking on the motorcade.
