DG health urges doctors to serve patients sincerely

DHAKA, May 4, 2025 (BSS)- Director General of the Health Services  Professor Dr Md Nazmul Hossain today urged the doctors to serve the patients with utmost sincerity saying the medical profession is not just a job rather a moral responsibility.

“The true identity of a doctor is to work with a service mentality regardless of party affiliation," he said.

Nazmul Hossain said this at the inauguration ceremony of the three-day fourth interim meeting of the Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons (BSNS) at a hotel in the capital.

Despite various limitations, doctors are moving forward keeping pace with modern technology in complex medical fields including neurosurgery, he said.

Bangladesh is moving forward in neuro and spinal surgery, he said adding in this regard the government is providing all support to improve medical education and medical services.

Nazmul Hossain hoped that the people of the country would regain confidence in medical services very soon.

He urged the medical teachers to be sincere in their teaching profession to create worthy medical practitioners in the country.
