Jubo League presidium member, 3 others held in city

DHAKA, May 5, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police in separate raids arrested four individuals including a Jubo League presidium member and a Dhaka South City Awami League leader from different parts of the capital city last night.

The arrested have been identified as Awami Jubo League Presidium member Md. Taj Uddin Ahmed (52), Dhaka South City Awami League Industry and Commerce Affairs Secretary Nasir Hossain (69), 53 no ward Jubo League leader Md. Safur Uddin (50) and former joint general secretary of Dhaka South City Chhatra League and Kadamtali Thana Awami League member Md. Shahid Mahmud Hemi (42).

Deputy Commissioner of DB Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed their arrests.

Separate DB teams arrested Md Taj Uddin Ahmed from Banasree, Nasir Hossain from Gulshan, Md Safur Uddin from Khalpar area under Turag police station and Shahid Mahmud Hemi from Karwan Bazar areas on Sunday night.

The arrestees were involved in destabilising the country through creating panic in the piblic minds by bringing out sudden processions in different parts of the capital, the DB said.
