Six robbers held with local, foreign weapons in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, May 5, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested six members of an inter-district robber gang with huge quantity of locally and foreign-made firearms from Lakshipur under Alamdanga upazila of the district early this morning.

The robber gang was waiting in front of Abdur Razzak's Oil Shop in Lakshipur Bazar of the upazila with the intention of committing a robbery in the area.

Being informed, a police team from Alamdanga Police Station surrounded the microbus of the gang and arrested them with the weapons, a press release said.

The weapons include - one foreign-made pistol, one revolver, one shooter gun, two bullets, two Chinese axes, one walkie-talkie, police jacket and Yaba tablets.

The arrested are Rubel Rana, 29, son of Babar Ali of Kushtia Kandarpudia village, Azizur Mandal, 36, son of Qazeder of Ahadnagar, Shilon Molla, 21, son of Saiful Islam of Jorapukuria, Mithu, 30, son of Kadam Ali of Kadikhali Ramchandrapur village, Jhenaidah district, Monirul Islam, 40, son of Badar Uddin Mandal and Maruf Sheikh, 20, son of Mahasin Sheikh of Madhupur Uttarpara.

A case was filed with Alamdanga Police Station in this connection, said Masudur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Alamdanga Police Station.
