DHAKA, May 5, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) today reviewed flying achievement and all flight related occurrences in 2024 at a colloquium titled “Command Safety Seminar -2025”, an Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.
It said BAF chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan joined as the chief guest the seminar at Falcon Hall at Base Bashar when “all flight related occurrences” including the flying achievements of the past year were analysed.
The air chief distributed Flight Safety Trophies and praised BAF personnel for their hard work and professionalism, “which led to achieving 23,026 hours safe flying”.
BAF Base Cox’s Bazar was awarded “Inter-Base Flight Safety Trophy” and 5 Squadron BAF was awarded “Inter-Squadron Khademul Bashar Flight Safety Trophy” for achieving the highest safe flying hours in the year 2024.
BAF Base Zahurul Haque Aircraft Engineering Squadron was awarded “Best Aircraft Engineering Squadron Trophy”.
The ISPR said Khan noted that the event provided a valuable platform for professionals to share experiences, enhance cooperation and a support effort to promote flight safety.
He urged all aircrews, technicians, controllers to be more vigilant while enhancing close supervision and strictly following the rules and regulations.
“The BAF is committed and always ready to defend our motherland at all times all means,” the air chief said.
According to the statement BAF carried out the UN mission rotation flight, ferry flight to UK and Czech Republic in 2024.
It said the BAF provided training support like Rappelling and Fast Roping, Para trooping, Medical Care Emergency Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) to Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy.
The BAF also supported different VVIP Flights, reconnaissance and Relief and Rescue mission for Feni Flood Victims 2024, the statement added.
Senior BAF officials and airmen attended the seminar.
