SIRAJGANJ, May 5, 2025 (BSS)- A total of 13 families of the martyrs, who were
killed during the mass uprising in July-August 2024, have got financial
assistance here today.

Each of the 13 martyrs families coming from different upazilas of the
district received a cheque for Taka two lakh.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nazrul Islam handed over the cheques as the
chief guest in a cheque-giving ceremony at the A K Shamsuddin Conference Room
of the DC Office here at 4 pm.

Chief Executive Officer (Acting) of the District Council Afsana Yasmin
presided over the event while Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganapati Roy,
Sirajganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Monowar Hossain, Office
Secretary of District BNP Tanvir Mahmud Palash, Convener of Boishommo Birodhi
Chhatra Andolan (Anti-Discrimination Student Movement) Sajib Sarkar and its
Joint Convener Muntashir Mehdi were present as special guests.

At the event, speakers respectfully remembered the sacrifices of the martyred
and expressed their commitment to stand by their families.
