DHAKA, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the attachment of 17 acres of land owned by former defence adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Major General (Retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, and his brothers Shahin Siddique and Rafik Ahmed Siddique.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the ACC's plea, the commission is currently investigating allegations of amassing illegal wealth against the accused. During the probe, it came to light that they were attempting to transfer their properties, potentially obstructing the investigation.

"For the sake of proper investigation, the properties should be attached immediately," the ACC said in its petition.
