3 more give confessional statements in Sohag murder case

DHAKA, July 23, 2025 (BSS) –Three more accused have given confessional statements in connection with the brutal murder of scrap metal trader Lal Chand Md Sohag in the capital’s Mitford area.
 
The accused—Nannu Kazi, Tarek Rahman Robin, and Rizwan Uddin—were produced before separate Dhaka courts today, where their confessional statements were recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah recorded the statement of Nannu Kazi, Magistrate Minhazul Islam recorded that of Tarek Rahman Robin, and Magistrate Sadekur Rahman recorded the statement of Rizwan Uddin. 

After completion of the confessional statements, the court ordered them to send to jail.
 
With these, a total of eight accused have so far confessed to their involvement in the killing.
 
Earlier, on July 17, accused Titon Gazi, Md Alamgir, and Monir alias Lomba Monir gave confessional statements, followed by Sajib Bepari on July 19 and Mahmudul Hasan Mahin on July 20.
 
Sohag, 43, was hacked, beaten, and stoned to death on July 9 in the Mitford area of old Dhaka. 

His sister Monjuara Begum filed a murder case with Kotwali Police Station the following day.
