Illegal gas lines severed in Narayanganj

DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) - A three and a half kilometre illegal gas distribution line was disconnected from the source point in Sonargaon, Narayanganj, on Wednesday.

Besides, about 830 illegal residential burners were severed and pipes of various sizes were seized and destroyed. 

The Executive Magistrate of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources led the eviction drive, a handout said today.

In addition, the bypass line of the illegal gas connection of M/s Crony Apparels Limited was disconnected from the source point in a drive conducted in Kashipur, Fatullah. The company's illegal gas connection had been cut off several times before and a case is going on against it.

This drive was conducted in line with the government's zero tolerance policy against illegal gas connections. Such drives will continue in the public interest, the handout said.
