CTTC arrests ex-mayor of Santhia Municipality from Paltan

DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) - Police on Wednesday arrested former mayor of Santhia Municipality in Pabna district Md. Mahbubul Alam Bachchu (50) in a case registered under the Explosive Substances Act from the capital's Paltan area. 


A team of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Bachchu in a raid at Paltan Thana area on Wednesday, said a police press release. 

He is also president of Santhia Municipality Awami League. 

Bachchu is an accused in a case filed with Santhia Police Station in Pabna district under section 3/4 of the Explosive Substances Act of 1908, on March 10 last year.
