KHULNA, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - A discussion and cultural event titled “Mass Oath taking for Social Reform in the July Reawakening” was held here today.

Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs jointly organized the programme at district Shilpakala Academy as part of the month-long events commemorating the anniversary of the July Uprising of 2024.

Mrs. Nurunnahar, mother of martyred Sakib Raihan of Khulna, Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam and officials of various departments were present.

In the first session, the participants were virtually connected with the central programme organized at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka.

Sharmin S. Morshed, Advisor to the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, virtually joined the event from Osmani Auditorium at the capital. 

The oath taking ceremony was held in the second session attended by representative of the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, leaders of different political parties took part in the anti-fascist movement. 

Similar program was arranged at all upazilas of the district.
