Administration officials take oath to ensure social security in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Administration officials have taken an oath to ensure social security in the spirit of the July uprising.

The Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Advisor Sharmin S Murshid joined the programme virtually and administered the oath. 

A program titled 'July Revival' was organized across the country today with the aim of making social service activities more dynamic and people-friendly. As part of this, the district administration and the Social Service Department, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Children Affairs, organized the oath-taking ceremony at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room this morning. 

The oath-taking ceremony included a pledge to make social security, facilitate services, prevent violence against women and children, and build a poverty-free, violence-free country. 

In the oath, they said, “We pledge to eliminate oppression of women and children and establish human rights and justice in cities and villages. We will create a safe environment for women and children at home, on the streets, in the workplace, in schools and in cyberspace.” 

This is not only a state duty but also a humanitarian and moral call. 

Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan was present as the chief guest at the oath-taking ceremony. Officer of the Department of Women's Affairs Sahela Parveen, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Ariful Haque, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer S.M. Mostafizur Rahman were present as special guests. 

The program was presided over by Deputy Director of the District Youth Development Department, Bagerhat, Rafiqul Islam. 

After the oath-taking ceremony, a pleasant cultural program was organized at the town's Independence Park with performances of local artists.
