We want to celebrate August 5 through making July Charter: Nahid Islam

JAMALPUR, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam today said they want to celebrate August 5 with all parties through consensually making the July Charter. 

He said, “Someone complains that we are trying to postpone election. But if we did not make success the July upsurge you would have been waiting for years under the fascist Sheikh Hasina government”. 

The NCP chief said this while speaking at his party’s meeting at Fouzdari intersection area in the town.

Nahid also said they forwarded the July agitation up to topple of the government with a view to establishing the rights of the people, votes and justice. He said they want election by ensuring people’s right to expression. He said only transforming one government to another; no fundamental change will be carried out for the general people.

 He called upon all parties to come forward to build the country being imbued with the spirit of July upsurge.

Among others, Senior Joint Convener Samanta Sharmin, Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr Tansim Jara, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patowari and joint Member Secretary Lutfar Rahman were present at the meeting.

Earlier, they took out a procession from Tomaltola area in the town and paraded the main roads. The procession ended at Foujdari intersection area.
