ACC begins investigation against ex-CEC Nurul Huda over embezzlement

DHAKA, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started an investigation against former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda along with others concerned on charges of embezzling Tk. 7.47 crore for training purpose.   

ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain made the remarks while addressing a media briefing at its head office today.

He said the money was spent for training in an unethical manner on the 11th National Parliament election and the 5th Upazila Parishad election. 

"The expenditure for training purpose was not followed the policies of the finance ministry and the own policies of the commission," the director general said. 

He said the ACC will investigate allegations of the money embezzlement against accused CEC, commissioners, secretary and other officials.
