DHAKA, July 29, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested another accused in the murder case of Lal Chand alias Sohag from the capital's Keraniganj are early today. 
 
The arrestee has been identified as Md. Sagar (36).
 
Based on secret information, police arrested Sagar after conducting a raid in Keraniganj area around 04:45 am today, said a police press release.
 
With the arrest, a total of 12 people have so far been arrested in the murder while efforts are on to capture remaining other accused, it added.
 
Nine of the arrestees have admitted their involvement in Sohag murder and given confessional statements under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) before the court.
 
Earlier on July 9, at 6 pm, a gang of miscreants brutally beat and hacked Lal Chand alias Sohag (39) to death in front of Gate No. 3 of Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital in the Old Dhaka.
 
Elder sister of the deceased filed a murder case with Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
