Tarique Rahman to join programme to honour martyrs’ families in Ashulia tomorrow

SAVAR, July 29, 2025 (BSS) - A public meeting will be held at Ashulia, Savar tomorrow to honour the families of the students, workers and the people who embraced martyrdom in the July Mass Uprising in 2024.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will virtually join the event as the chief guest. Dhaka District BNP will arrange the event at the Darul Ihsan Madrasa ground in Sreepursha Ganokbari, Ashulia.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the public meeting as the main speaker.

All preparations have already been completed.

Dhaka District BNP General Secretary Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury said the public meeting will be organized as part of the 36-day BNP central programme marking the 1st anniversary of the July Mass Uprising,

She said although fascist Sheikh Hasina fled on August 5, after killing the students and the public in Ashulia, the bodies of the martyrs were put in a pickup van and set on fire, which was directly led by fascist Sheikh Hasina.

Dhaka District BNP President Khandaker Abu Ashfaq said 71 people embraced martyrdom in this area in July Mass Uprising.
