DHAKA, Aug 2, 2025 (BSS) - Police today arrested a drug peddler and seized 9000 pieces of Yaba tablets and a microbus used in the drug trafficking from the capital's Jatrabari area. 
 
A Gulshan division team of Detective Branch (DB) of police took position in Matuail Ring Road area on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway under Jatrabari Police Station following intelligence information that drug traffickers would enter Dhaka with a consignment of drugs, said a press release.
 
The team intercepted the microbus at Matuail around 2:05 pm today and arrested Shahed Ali,36, along with the vehicle and 9000 pieces of Yaba tablets.   
 
A case was lodged under the Narcotics Control Act with Jatrabari Police Station.
