DHAKA, Aug 2, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today granted four days remand to two accused of old city’s scrap trader Lal Chand alias Sohag murder case.

A team of Kotwali Police yesterday arrested Abir Hossain and Roman Bepari from the old city and produced them before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court today with a prayer for granting their 10-day police remand.

Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Nazmin Akhter, on behalf of the CMM, after hearing on the petition, granted their four days remand.

Meanwhile, the same court ordered to send another accused of the case Sagor to the jail as police produced him before the court after ending his four-day police remand. He was given the remand by another metropolitan magistrate court on July 29 last.

Scrap trader Lal Chand alias Sohag was mercilessly hit by stone and chopped to death near gate number-3 of the Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital by a group of miscreants following a business feud on July 9 last.

Manju Ara Begum, elder sister of the victim, on July 10 filed a murder case with Kotwali police station accusing 19 people.

Sohag was the son of Yusuf Ali Hawlader of east Namabari village under Keraniganj Model Thana.
