Man killed in road mishap in Sabujbagh

DHAKA, Aug 2, 2025 (BSS) - A man was killed in a road accident in the capital's Sabujbagh area today. 

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Yakub Ali.58, a trader of cow milk, a resident of Manikdi area under Sabujbagh Police Station. 

Police and family sources said, Yakub suffered critical injuries after being hit by a pickup van while he was crossing the road in Basabo WASA Kadamtala area under Sabujbagh Police Station around 12:30 pm today. 

He was first taken to Mugda General Hospital from where he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty physicians declared him dead. 

Inspector in-charge of DMCH Police Camp Mohammad Faruk confirmed the matter. 

The pickup van was seized, he said, adding that the driver fled the scene.
