DHAKA, Aug 3, 2025 (BSS) - Leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) are coming from different parts of the country to participate in a rally at Shahbagh in the capital today.

The JCD is holding a rally to mark the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising. The rally will formally begin at 2:30 pm. 
 
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to address the rally virtually from London as the chief guest. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be present as a special guest.
 
In addition, senior BNP leaders as well as former student leaders will also be present.

The leaders and activists from different district and city units of JCD started coming to Shahbagh area since Sunday morning. The rally venue was filled with leaders and activists before 11 am.

Processions were seen entering the rally venue from different districts including Natore, Naogaon, Brahmanbaria, Narsingdi, Comilla, Chandpur and Chapainawabganj.

JCD central assistant organising secretary Urmi Akhter Bhuiyan said the JCD leaders and activists are coming from different parts of the country for the rally and they will remain peaceful as per the central directives.
