DHAKA, Aug 3, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan today said they want quick trial of mass killers and fascists forces.

“Those who say that if BNP gets the responsibility of running the state, the trial of these criminals will be delayed or disrupted in any way are nothing but fools. They have bad intensions,” he told a discussion at Jatiya Press Club marking the first anniversary of July Uprising.

Bangladesh Labour Party organized the discussion titled “Establishing the right to vote is the pledge of July” with the party chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran in the chair.

Noting that delay of election will not be accepted, Nazrul said, “We think the environment for a fair election has already been prevailing in the country.”

He said the Election Commission (EC) stated that they have prepared the voter list and it is working on making the expatriate Bangladeshis as voters.

The BNP leader said the EC also made provisions for demarcation of parliamentary constituencies and have asked all to report any complaints by August 10.

Reform works, works of July Charter as well as the National Consensus Commission are also at the final stage, so there is no reason for delaying polls, he added.

BNP Standing Committee Member Selima Rahman, Chairperson's Advisory Council Member Golam Sarwar, Executive Committee Member Nazim Uddin Alam, Labour Party leaders Zahura Khatun Jui, Mahbube Rahsan Khaled, Alauddin Ali, Joint Secretary General Abdur Rahman Khokon, Helal Uddin Chowdhury and Tariqul Islam Sadi also spoke at the discussion.
