BGB seizes mobile phone parts worth Tk 1.5cr in Sherpur border

SHERPUR, Aug 6, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized huge mobile phone parts smuggling from India worth about Taka 1.5 crore from Ramchandrakura border under Nalitabari upazila of the district today.

On information, a patrol team of BGB-39 conducted a drive in the area and seized the mobile parts, Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Hasan, commander of Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB), confirmed this in a BGB press release at 2 pm.

Sensing the presence of the BGB, the smugglers fled away after leaving behind several bags full of goods. Later, 2,572 pieces of mobile phone displays of different brands were recovered from the bags.

In this regard, Lt. Col. Hasan said that all the seized goods have been handed over to the Customs as per the rules.
