ACC files corruption case against N’ganj businessman Awlad Hossain

DHAKA, Aug 6, 2025(BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a corruption case against Md Awlad Hossain, a businessman of Narayanganj, for acquiring illegal wealth and providing false information in his tax return.

The ACC Director General (DG) Md Akhter Hossain today disclosed the information to the media at a press briefing in the commission headquarters at Segunbagicha area.

According to the ACC officials, Md Awlad Hossain, owner of M/S Azad Traders of Brindaban Market of Narayanganj city provided information of his wealth worth about Taka 7,31,13,718 in his last year’s tax return but the commission during its investigation found his wealth worth about Taka 7,89, 24,637. The businessman concealed the information of his wealth worth about Taka 58,10,919 in his tax return that is beyond his known source of income, the ACC sources added.

The commission for these reasons filed the case against him under sections 26(2) and 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act-2004.
