DSCC announces Tk 3,841cr budget for FY26

DHAKA, Aug 6, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has announced a budget of Tk 3,841.38 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26).

DSCC Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia today announced the budget at the Nagar Bhaban auditorium here with a revenue collection target of Tk 1,320.43 crore.

In the proposed budget, the operational cost has been set at Tk 635.33 crore lakh, DSCC's own development expenditure is Tk 8,76.64 crore and the total development expenditure (including government and foreign assistance) is Tk 1,469.24 crore.

In the budget Tk 365.11 crore has been allocated for road and traffic infrastructure, Tk 115 crore for canal development and removing water-logging, Tk 57.20 crore for waste management, Tk 57.44 crore for mosquito control and health sector, Tk 5.26 crore for tree plantation and environmental development and Tk 13.39 crore for welfare-based activities.

The DSCC’s budget was Tk 6,760.74 crore for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, which was revised to Tk 2,667.59 crore.

DSCC Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia sought all-out cooperation of the stakeholders in the successful execution of the budget.

Shahjahan Mia said instead of making an ambitious big budget, a feasible and rational budget has been announced this year where unnecessary expenses have been proposed to cut without hiking taxes.

DSCC Chief Executive Officer Md Zahirul Islam and Secretary Muhammad Shafiqul Islam along with department heads were present on the occasion.
