NSDA works to include informal sector workers in dignified job: executive chairman

DHAKA, Aug 6, 2025 (BSS) – National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) Executive Chairman Rehana Parven today said they want to include informal sector workers in dignified and permanent employment through skill-based training and certification. 

“NSDA is working to create a quality skills ecosystem. The skills ecosystem will move forward only if the Industrial Skills Council is strong,” he told a workshop on “Industrial Skill Councils (ISC) in Skill Development, Industrial Integration and Employment” organized by NSDA in the capital, said a press release.

NSDA Member (Planning and Skill Standards) and Joint Secretary Mina Masud Uzzaman chaired the event while it’s Member (Registration and Certification) and Additional Secretary Alif Rudaba, Informal Sector Industry Skills Council Chairman Mirza Nurul Gani Shovon and Vice Chairman Mansur Hasan Khandaker were present as special guests.

The participants in the workshop provided policy recommendations, practical guidelines and suggestions, which have the opportunity to be included in the future work plan.
