No development in country without elected government: Hafiz

RAJSHAHI, Aug 6, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Standing Committee Member Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has said there is no development in the country without an elected government. 
 
He said  Chief Adviser announced that the national election will be held within February next and expressed his thanks to him.
 
BNP leader Hafiz Uddin made the observation while addressing a pre-rally meeting to mark the anniversary of July Upsurging and victory of students-people here today as chief guest. 
 
Rajshahi City and district units of BNP jointly organized the meeting.
 
Hafiz also said Chief Adviser Professor Yunus held a meeting with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman promising to hold election within February.  
 
"We BNP went to power four times with peoples vote, but we were not eager to go to power," he said, adding election is the democratic right of the people but the fascist Awami League destroyed the rights.

Illustrating the misrule of fascist Awami League he said they looted crores of money, snatched peoples' freedom, killed thousands of BNP leaders and workers and filed cases against scores of BNP leaders and workers.
 
He also mentioned that the fascist regime has adopted all sorts of strategies to make its power permanent.

With BNP leader Advocate Ershad Ali Isha in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Syed Shahin Shawkat, Khaleque, Abu Sayeed Chand, Mamunur Rashid and Shafiqul islam.

Later, they brought out a huge victory rally which paraded important parts of the city.
