CHATTOGRAM, Aug 6, 2025 (BSS) - Welcoming the announcement of the elections by Chief Adviser, BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said some forces have become active against democracy and elections.
“They will not be given any space. We are walking on the path to victory for democracy. Those who obstruct this path will be rejected by the people of the country." Khasru said.
He said, "However, we all have to remain vigilant and united, so that there are no obstacles in the elections. They can do politics, but they will not come to vote like Sheikh Hasina,"
He made these remarks while addressing the BNP's pre-rally victory rally in the city on Wednesday afternoon to mark the first anniversary of the July Uprising.
The rally was jointly organized by Chattogram city, North and South Districts of BNP at the New Market crossing today.

We have been in jail for the last 16 years to return the ownership to the people. We will return the ownership of the country to the people through elections’.
He said, 'The people of Bangladesh want tolerant politics, they want to do politics with respect for each other. Despite political differences, BNP has initiated new politics. We have begun walking on the highway of democracy along side other political parties and the people of the country. We must be vigilant so that no one can hinder this progress of democracy’.
Mentioning all the achievements of the leaders and activists in the progress of democracy, the BNP leader said, 'This success we have today is due to 18 years of sacrifice. The credit for our success is due to your sacrifice. We have achieved success in exchange for this sacrifice. We have to accept sacrifices until the elections. We have to keep our eyes and ears open. The country must move forward under the leadership of Tarique Rahman by confronting anti-democratic forces and ensuring victory in the future.’
