BGB arrests Indian national with Aadhaar card in Rangamati

DHAKA, Aug 7, 2025 (BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) early today arrested an Indian national with an Indian Aadhaar card from the bordering Bagakhali with an Indian Aadhaar card from the bordering Bagakhali Bazar area of Jurachhari upazila in Rangamati district

The detainee was identified as Man Chandra Chakma (22), son of Chandra Hanshu Chakma of Lunglei area of South Ugudasuri Chongte in Mizoram state, India.

A patrol team of Bagakhali BOP under the Kaptai Battalion (41 BGB) of BGB conducted a special operation in the bordering Bagakhali Bazar area based on intelligence information and arrested the Indian national this morning, a BGB press release said.

The arrested person in the initial interrogation confessed that he is involved in smuggling.
