DHAKA, Aug 7, 2025 (BSS) - A joint team of Coast Guard and police during a drive seized 1.50 crore meters of foreign illegal dragnet from Kutubjum Tazia Kata area under Maheshkhali upazila in Cox's Bazar today. 

On information, the joint team raided a house in the area and seized the dragnet, said Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq.

The traders, however, fled scene sensing the presence of the joint forces. 

Later, the seized dragnet was destroyed publicly in the presence of the Maheshkhali upazila fisheries officer. 

At the time, the law enforcers stressed such operation will continue to protect the country's fisheries resources.
