Ex-vice president of banned BCL held in Khulna

KHULNA, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested ex-vice president of the banned city unit Chatra League (BCL) at hotel Tazmohol, adjacent to Alir Club under Sonadanga police station, last night in an anarchy case.

The arrested Sheikh Sakib, son of Sheikh Abdul Jabbar, resident at Sonadanga Church Road in the city, was at large after August 5 last year, Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Hye of Sonadanga police station confirmed.

Sakib was involved in anti-government activities while absconding. The SI said, adding that he would produce before the court with a remand prayer.
