DHAKA, August 9, 2025 (BSS) - The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) set a humanitarian example by standing by a mentally ill woman, official sources said today.

According to sources, a police team saw a mentally ill woman crying out in labour pain around noon on Friday at Dewanhat crossing in Chattogram city. The police, along with some female pedestrians, stood by her side and took her to a nearby hospital. They ensured she received proper care during delivery at the hospital.

Sources said the woman and her baby are both well now. Local residents highly appreciated the police initiative.
