DMP files 1,711 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, Aug 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,711 cases against motor vehicles for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Saturday (August 09) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 222 motor vehicles were dumped and 79 vehicles were wrecked due to poor driving practices, according to DMP Media and Public Relations Division sources.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
